5 Meal Ideas for Picky Toddlers

Toddlers can be very picky and unpredictable sometimes when it comes to their food choices. Some of them just don’t like vegetables or anything that tastes bitter. You will notice this from their unfriendly demeanor anytime you try to feed them specific foods. I’ve also seen some children that prefer eating only what some moms like to call “junk” food like pizza, chocolates, chips, biscuits, burgers, or foods that have no nutritional benefits for them. There are also kids that just shrug anytime you want to give them fruits and/ or vegetables.
Does this sound familiar?
Of course, every parent should be concerned about their child’s fussy eating habits. After all, what they eat during their childhood goes a long way to help them develop strong bones, healthy cells, and a well-developed cognitive system.

You can only offer them your own home made or preferred food, but you can’t always ‘make’ them like or eat what you want them to eat.

Your best bet is to try and respect your child’s appetite and be patient with them.

I know what you’re thinking… and your right. This is sometimes easier said then done.

I’m going to share five meal ideas (that have worked for my children) that can hopefully help your toddler eat better and of course healthily.

1. Spiralized Salad – Carrot, Apple, Cucumber, and Roasted Chicken

Picky toddlers have one thing in common. They like anything colorful and sweet. They will like this meal and get many nutritional benefits like vitamins and proteins from it. Besides, this spiralized salad is very easy to prepare and it consists of only four ingredients: carrot, apple, cucumber and roasted chicken. But to make it more attractive for your toddler to eat, make sure that you cut some of the ingredients in a spiral shape.

2. Shredded Cheese, Meatballs, Peas, and Strawberries

Serve your toddler this meal and they will sing their favorite song for you. With this meal, your baby will get all the nutrients that will make them stronger and healthy. Trust me, you don’t even need to spoon feed them this meal. Just place the meal in a small tray and you will be amazed by how much they will like it.

3. Pasta, Broccoli, and Spinach Meatballs

No matter how fussy or picky your children are about food, they will like this meal. Initially, some kids may find this meal uninteresting. If you can convince them to give it a try, not only will they want more, but they will also get additional nutrients that will help them to boost their immune system, digestive system and cardiovascular organs.

4. Chicken Strips, Shredded Cheese, and Mixed Veggies

Is your child “super” picky? Give them this meal and you will be surprised with how they will start crying (maybe or maybe not literally🙈) for more. Make sure you cut the veggies properly and ensure that the chicken is well-sliced so that they won’t find it difficult to eat.

5. Yogurt Pancakes, Potatoes, and Scrambled Eggs

If there is one reason why I absolutel love this meal, it is because all the ingredients are easily digestible. There are tons of benefits your toddler will get if they consume this meal, large amounts of vitamins and minerals, skin protection, and it will support mental growth.
